Welcome to Project "Get UnFat"!!

Hi! My name is Andi & I've gotten fat. I know. It doesn't sound good, fun or politically correct. But, this is MY journey, not a dig at people with weight issues. I never had a weight issue, unless you count my being a toddler that looked like a professional "rubber band smuggler", accentuating every joint with it's hefty chubby limbs.

Humor has always been my way to deal with the serious things in life. My friends often call me morbid, but I'd rather giggle than jiggle...so here is my attempt at having fun describing my journey to fatdom! This blog will be a collection of my musings in an attempt to see the light in the situation while seeking the personal power to make the shift back to healthy!

So, I hope you enjoy the snippets from my journey "to fatdom" and the long road I am embarking on towards my "old me" that I say I desperately want to be again. The only thing standing in my way is the BIG, UGLY, UNSUPPORTIVE BEAST I can also call...my own lack of self worth.

  1. First let me say that you are NOT FAT! You are very sexy!

Andi, dear, you have WAY WAY too much going for you to have low self worth. You're an amazing person, a phenomenal performer, and you're so much fun to be around. And you've got so many people that love you to pieces. That's an indication of a person who is worth quite a bit to a lot of people.

Okay, serious stuff aside, I'm all set to be a "follower" on your blog, because I'm looking forward to all of the funny stuff I'm sure you'll post!

    Lots of love

  2. Andi are you serious? It's not possible for you to be one of my heroes and be fat and worthless. The two can't co-exist on this planet. So quit it girly! You rock in so many ways!

But having said that, I'm totally going to read this because I'm pretty sure I'll laugh my butt off. "Rather giggle than jiggle" hahahah, I love that.

I just started a new diet, #4,567 I believe. So I'm right there with ya!

    Miss you!
    :)

  3. I love you both! You are so sweet! I do look forward to sharing the giggles. I have finally realized (physically) how I can no longer hide the low self worth since it's blobbing right out of my pants! So, I'm trying to fix 'me' so I can enjoy feeling the same way about me that so many of my dear friends like you all do!!! Thanks for the support! Get ready for some fun stuff! You KNOW I don't look at this world normally!! LOL!!! Belle, if you live in the downtown area, why don't we walk together sometime!?? Rob, you can bring the pup and we can walk at Eola! xoxox

  4. Andi,
We all question our own self worth. Many times I feel that I don't deserve all the love and good things in my life. You are a beautiful person with an amazing energy. I love you!! And I look forward to sharing your journey to finding happiness with your physical self. (I recently found mine) Let the fun begin.

    Hugs and Kisses,
    Cheryl F.

  6. I found the road to fatdom was a much shorter one than the road to thindom will be. I, too got fat for no other reason than I love food and hate exercise. Shall we travel the road together?
    Love ya!

  8. I would like to preface my comments by noting that I think you are very beautiful inside and out! However, I get the self esteem issues. If I didn't have them, I might be a musician today. I am going through a bit of a renaissance myself and would love to join you on your journey. It just so happens that I would like to work on my extra pounds and my self esteem. I will look forward to you cleaver musings along the way. May I bring my good friends beer and wine along please? Lol

  9. BTW, Dwayne says that there is just one problem with your blog: you are not fat! I will agree with him.

  11. You're NOT fat. I've seen you with corset & without, so I don't want to hear you're fat.

Here are a couple of walks I want you to do, where all I want you to do is go for a walk & people watch while you're out for a walk:

1 - Go over to Epcot & walk from the parking lot all the way around around the lake and back out to the car.

2 - Go all the way around the lake at Downtown Disney. Use the resort as your starting point since it has a decent bar & comfortable seating areas for a drink after you're done.

Yes... I'm asking you to walk around "work." But, both areas are safe and patrolled, so we don't have to worry about you. Both areas have places to stop for a drink, so maybe you can get others to go with you. With Christmas coming, these walks can be fun.

I want you to people watch along the way. You'll begin to realize you aren't fat.

  12. I love the ideas! Thanks! I also love that you tell me to people watch and have a drink after! LOL! Who is "Who", btw?

  13. A someone who has been fat and is trying to get unfat him self. I can really appriciate where you are comming from, tho i have never thought of you as fat at all. quite the contrary. But I do understand the "lack of self worth beast" I shudder to think of the potential relationships this has caused me all the way back to my childhood. Just a couple of years ago I met a talented, pretty lady, and my "beast" kept me from pursing more than a casual friendship with her. you don't know how much I kick myself in the butt over that. I have used my sense of humor an emotional crutch for years. So I salute your bravery in starting this blog. I just hope you know how special you are to those lucky enough to know you!

  14. Oopsie… "Who" is me. Wrong account. Won't do it again.

Anyway, about that walk around Downtown Disney… If you want, you can park at the absolute far end of the West Side lot & follow the sidewalk into the golf area. Just cross over at the wooden bridge that leads to golf club & reception area. You should be able to go from car to bar in about 5 minutes.

One more thing… If you decide to take the walk on the Saratoga Springs side of the lake, be sure to be walking lakeside as you approach or leave the Rainforest Cafe. There are several paths in that area that are clearly marked "don't use after dusk." If you're walking lakeside in this area, you shouldn't find your way onto these paths. BTW, you can walk well into the resort area to vary the path.

If you like rabbits, you'll find plenty of them on the resort side of the lake.

Here's one more walk for you… Leave the studios & follow the walkway that parallels the waterway leading to the Boardwalk. You can follow the walkway all the way into Epcot. Just be sure to note the boat schedule back to the studios. And be careful around Atlantic Dance. You don't need another cast.

You should walk into the Boardwalk area once the Christmas decorations are up. The decorations in the Boardwalk check-in area have to take quite a bit of time to create in the bakery.

If you need a drink, Big River will do. Big River is now Gordon Biersch brew pup under another name. Unfortunately, Big River doesn't sell Gordon Biersch's Garlic Fries To Die For. :-(
